The
vast majority of Australians (81%) are pro-choice. The same
national survey found 87% of women aged 18 to 49 support
a woman’s right to choose.
While
religious Australians account for the vast majority of the
minority opposed to choice, 77% of Australians with religions
affiliations support a woman’s right to choose.
There
is no mood for change in the electorate. Polls show the
proportion of Australian in supported of women’s unrestricted
access to abortion has grown steadily since the 1980s.
