Standing Up for Women's Rights

Adelaide Flashmob

On Sunday April 7th, approximately 50 men, women and children danced in Adelaide's CBD to stand up for women and against abortion stigma, shaming and silence. We thank every dancer and our volunteer organisers. Photos from Adelaide.

In additional to all our wonderful participants, we would like to say a special thanks to:

  • Hon Tammy Franks MLC, Greens member of the SA Legislative Council
  • Hon Anne Levy, AO, former ALP member of the SA Legislative Council
  • Vicki, for organising the CBD rehearsal venue
  • Nikki Hartmann Photography
  • Claire Bishop for the film (claire-bishop@live.co.uk)
  • Marie Stopes International Australia, for t-shirt donations
  • Our organising volunteers and the friends and partners who assisted on the day with childcare and other tasks

What next? Pledge to stand up to abortion shaming! You can also donate to help us continue to stand up for women.

Want more? Watch Melbourne dance against stigma back in September 2012; Sydney danced in November later that year. Listen to RCA President Leslie Cannold speak at Tedx Canberra.
