Reproductive Choice Australia is the peak representative body of pro-choice groups in Australia and campaigns on local, state and national issues. We are a non-partisan, not-for-profit organisation fully staffed by volunteers. We receive no government funding and rely for our effectiveness on member donations.
Reproductive Choice Australia aims to:
- Maintain, extend and improve women’s access to the full range of women's reproductive health care services, including medical and surgical abortions
- Ensure access to professional pregnancy counselling services that provide balanced, medically accurate information and referrals to all three options with an unplanned pregnancy: parenting, abortion and adoption
- Maximise women’s reproductive freedom and dignity and challenge the stigma around abortion
We are a member of Women's Global Network for Reproductive Rights and endorse the International Campaign for Women's Right to Safe Abortion.
Since 2005, Reproductive Choice Australia has campaigned to lift the Australian Government’s effective ban on RU486 (mifepristone) in Australia and to extend prohibitions against deceptive and misleading advertising by anti-choice pregnancy agencies.
Our current campaign challenges abortion silence, stigma and shaming of women.
